Background

“As a cardiologist managing patients with congenital heart disorders, some with long-term medical issues, it is essential to be empathetic and fully supportive, to help the patients and their parents cope with the long-term defects, to clearly map out and navigate them through the various treatment options.

As a paediatrician, I hope to use my medical expertise, inherent empathetic and sympathetic nature,  to journey with parents to anticipate each stage of development and growth of their children; to wholistically work towards the betterment of their health, and with the right people skills and doctoring ethos to gain their trust and faith in me with their children’s health.”

Prior to joining SBCC Baby and Child Clinic, Dr Chan was a Consultant Paediatrician and Senior Lecturer with the Department of Paediatrics and the National University Hospital. Her extensive research on paediatric cardiology has been published widely in a number of local and international medical journals. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine,  a member of the Singapore Medical Association, Singapore Paediatric Society, and Singapore Cardiac Society.
