Women's health screenings

At Healthway Screening Centres, our medical professionals offer personalised recommendations and treatments for women, helping you to uncover key insights about your current health status, and identify any future risks for early intervention. Our health screening packages for women consist of the following tests:

Overall health assessment

The overall health assessment includes:

  • Physical examination
  • Medical health evaluation to assess any health risks from family medical history or lifestyle
  • Blood cholesterol test to detect high cholesterol levels, which could lead to heart diseases
  • Blood glucose test to evaluate blood sugar levels and assess the risk of diabetes.

A Pap smear is a procedure to test for cervical cancer in women. The test involves collecting cells from your cervix – the lower, narrow end of your uterus that’s at the top of your vagina. This test should be taken as part of your regular health screening if you are sexually active.

Pelvic Examination

A pelvic exam is performed to detect signs of illness in a woman’s reproductive organs, as well as sexually transmitted infections (STI). Women with issues such as abnormal discharge, menstrual disorders or perimenopause are advised to go for annual health screening.

Breast cancer is the most prevalent type of cancer among Singaporean women. Most women are at risk of breast cancer, and the risk increases with age. It is crucial to schedule regular screenings, as early detection of breast cancer significantly improves the survival rate. Aside from breast self-examinations, ladies are encouraged to go for breast cancer screenings. The mammogram is a low-dose X-ray examination on the breasts. It is currently the most reliable screening tool used by doctors to detect early signs of breast cancer.
